Vintage Gilman Collamore Hand-Painted Oyster Plate

A late 19th century oyster plate by Gilman Collamore, hand-painted with a pile of oysters and dark, glossy mussel shells. The scalloped edge is trimmed in 22k gold gilt (that's gold applied in a lacy pattern). 

We love it on a dinner table for an oyster night, or as the first course at a dinner party. It's also pretty enough to hang on a wall or prop on a bar cart or shelf, where the gold catches the light.
