1960s, mouth blown compote/ashtray/dish, attributed to famed Murano artist, Alfred Barbini. This fabulous piece demonstrates three famous techniques of Murano artistry including: Sommerso (layered glass colors), Bullicante (controlled bubbles) and Aventurine (24k gold flecks within the glass). This piece is in excellent condition.
The sculptural shape allows this piece to be styled in multiple ways: as a compote, catchall, or cigar ashtray.
