This Art Deco silver plate cocktail shaker in the form of a golf bag is from the 1920’s-1930’s designed by George Berry for the Derby/International Silver Co. This design was the first novelty cocktail shaker. It is a very detailed and highly sought after piece. The base of the shaker has a cylindrical shape with a canvas textured ground. Strips suggestive of a stitched leather are applied vertically to the body and horizontally at the rim and base. The handle is in the form of a leather strap terminating in an applied pouch. All together the look is of an early 20th century canvas and leather golf bag. The lid includes a golf bag form finial. The shaker is in good condition with a replaced cork in the lid and the strainer cap.
We love it styled on a bar cart where its unique silhouette can shine, or used for cocktail hour as a true conversation starter.
A must-have for collectors of vintage barware, golf enthusiasts, or anyone drawn to bold, character-driven design from the early 20th century. A great gift too!
