1868-1891 Tiffany, Sterling Silver, trophy shaped vase. Marks on the base indicate that the piece was made/designed by Edward C. Moore. Moore, from 1868-1891 worked at Tiffany’s as their Chief Silver Designer. His work won him a gold medal at the 1867 Exposition Universelle (prior to his tenure at Tiffany). He won another at the Centennial Exposition in 1876 and a special gold medal in 1878 in Paris. This vase has been professionally polished and is in excellent condition.
Professionally polished, the silver has a beautiful presence making it just as striking styled as a sculptural object as it is used as a vessel. We love it displayed on a mantel, console, or shelf, or repurposed for floral arrangements or bar accessories.
A rare and collectible piece.
