      Featured Artist: Paper and Bead

Growing up in a creative home, Amber has always been a maker of beautiful things. She launched Paper and Bead in 2017 as way to merge her love of making things by hand with her inability to keep plants alive. She wanted her home filled with plants and flowers that would always look beautiful, and brighten the day, without the risk of withering. Amber uses German and Italian crepe paper with a variety of color mediums to make each flower by hand. Her flower portfolio includes peonies, ranunculus, hydrangeas, orchids, sweat peas and irises. We love all of her flowers and have chosen the creamy white ranunculus for this collection. A Las Vegas resident, Amber is a software project manager by day and makes her paper flowers by night.

Wendy is one of our favorite ceramic artists, creating small-batch, limited-edition, food-safe ceramics in Worcester, Massachusetts. She works exclusively with porcelain and all of her pieces are hand made and hand decorated in a unique, modern style. A graduate of The Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and Tufts University, Wendy is influenced by patterns in nature, and a need to elevate the human everyday experience.

While raising her two children, Wendy loved to create art with them and also worked as a substitute art teacher. In 2010 she battled breast cancer and is now in remission! This experience pushed her to return to her love of clay. Wendy believes art is therapy, both for the maker and the user.

      Featured Artist: Matthew Langley

      Featured Artist: Matthew Langley

We love the way Matthew Langley paints in varying and vibrant colors -- most often in vertical formations with colors overlapping. Generally using a single hue, he explores line, texture and color gradation in his work. He approaches his work with openness, eagerness and a lack of preconception of the final product -- allowing himself to enjoy the creative process.
Names are important to Matt. He titles his works with names the observers can understand — enabling them to open their minds to thoughts that can influence the way they look at his work. Matt's paintings can be found in galleries, designer showhouses, hotels and department stores throughout the US. We find his paintings bring life and happiness to the viewer and hope you will enjoy his piece in your Curated Shelfie Box.

Our favorite candles come from a small producer in Montreal, Canada, Dot & Lil. Founded in 2008 by Anne Dardick, we first discovered Dot & Lil several years ago when looking for clean smelling candles with pretty packaging. Passionate about anything handmade, Anne is obsessed with designs, fonts, patterns and anything vintage or floral. Dot & Lil's products are made without water and preservatives — they are ultra-concentrated and long-lasting.

      Featured Artist: Erika Guitierrez

      Featured Artist: Erika Guitierrez

An all-time favorite artist of ours, Erika Gutierrez is a painter and illustrator who lives in Colombia. Her art suggests experience beyond her 32 years. She studied plastic arts at Bellas Artes in Cali, Colombia and currently lives in Bogota.

We love the colors and details of her works – her expression through this medium is both beautiful and remarkable. Erika tells the stories of her life through her paintings. Her emotions spill out in great detail. Erika often paints in the night hours when she is unable to sleep – peace and darkness give her the opportunity to create without disruption. She herself is often the subject of her painting and if there is a female in the piece, it is always Erika.

She has worked for clients such as: The Washington Post, the South Korean brand Ader Error, ID magazine, society6, Food for the Hungry, Min and Mon bags, Rookie Magazine, Colombian magazines, exhibitions with the Son Espace gallery at fairs such as YIA YOUNG INTERNATIONAL ARTIST, PREVIEW BERLIN, ART COPENHAGEN, CONTEMPORARY ISTANBUL among others.
