Meet the Maker | Heidi Bishop Ceramics

Meeting Heidi Bishop of HB Ceramics was truly a highlight of my recent trip to London! We have gotten to know each other through texting and emails as we have much in common outside of our love of small dishes.

Heidi welcomed me into her home studio which is warm and inviting. Shelves lined with pieces in various stages of the creative process. Kiln in the corner with pieces cooking away. A desk filled with little jars of paints and small brushes for intricate detail.

I have a serious small dish thing. I love to set them out in a grouping, put them next to the sink and bed, give them as gifts to friends, teachers and loved ones. I always think her small dishes are like an open egg shell with sharp edges that she paints in 18k gold. I can't decide which one is my favorite. I bounce from lips to flowers to the simple heart. I saw the prettiest pansy and the cutest cut-out hearts in rainbow colors.

Cut-out rainbow heart dishes stole my heart!

This sweet pansy dish will make its debut on our shelves in time for spring.

And as we get into serious entertaining season we are obsessed with Heidi's placecards. Just use a dry erase marker to write guest names or food items. They wipe clean in a nano second! These Ceramic Gold Edge Placecards are perfect for a dinner party, buffet table, cheese board descriptions. The list goes on... I will have these front and center on my thanksgiving table and will use a gold dry erase marker for warmth and sparkle.
