I made two trips to Jackson Hole within the past several months and I feel so lucky to have experienced summer and winter season back-to-back.
Read on to see what I wore, where we ate and what we skied.
We arrived in Jackson on New Years Eve and to kick off the trip we had dinner with friends and piles of twenty-somethings. This is always my favorite way to do NYE -- no pressure, food everyone cooks, good drinks and happy + safe kids. I tried for something "mountain chic" to wear... I wore my new Le Lion sweater, AskkNY jeans and wooly slippers.
Other outfits throughout the week included my favorite Naked Cashmere sweater, a cozy Autumn Cashmere turtleneck sweater and a new La Ligne solid navy cashmere sweater. Always jeans and I alternated my footwear between some cozy Penelope Chilvers boots and my new FUBUKI short boots.
Because we were on East Coast Time, New Years Day started off with early morning skiing. The snow has been lacking out west this winter so the conditions were exactly what we left behind in Vermont! But, the weather was great and the scratchy slopes did not last long.
I run very cold and have worked really hard to perfect my ski gear. This is my tried and true collection of the ski gear that works for me. Another blog post will be details into my layering techniques and the reasons why things work for me but anyway, I layered up and headed oun out.
We skied all over the mountain, I even visited the scene of the crime from three years ago when I fantastically blew out my knee skiing at Jackson.
The rest of the days alternated between sun and snow, testing our legs and my knee -- and I am happy to say we are all leaving in one piece. We had a ball in the bowls -- Rendez Vous, Cirque, Cheyenne Bowl. The Hobacks were closed so we did not get to ski them. Groomers were like vacations for our legs after the heavy wet snow in the bowls and more difficult terrain.
We had some great cocktails and meals! Fun lunch and dinner at Corsa in the Caldera House property, great drinks at Osteria in our hotel and fabulous dinners at Snake River Grill and Kitchen in town. We also had a lovely lunch at Persephone cafe after our last morning of skiing.
How did you spend your Holiday?
